Parent Support
In leiu of a tuition fee, parents who are willing and able make a suggested donation of $300 per school year. No family is turned away for an inability to pay the donation.
As a condition to their children's enrollment, parents attend our monthly Parenting Education Class, participate in scheduled home visits, and attend one personal development class, such as Family Literacy, Nurturing Families or English. Parents also support KIM by engaging in volunteer hours, fundraising activities and quarterly meetings of the Parents' Advisory Board.
Why? Research shows that family-centered programming is effective in reaching at-risk students because it strengthens the core family unit.
