Kids in Motion (KIM)
Kids In Motion (
KIM) is an after-school academic enrichment program for children ages 5 to 12. Since 1995, KIM has helped students K-5 achieve or maintain a 2.0 grade point average or better while increasing their Reading, Writing, and Mathematics performance by one whole letter grade or more. Children receive 15 weekly hours of academic instruction, tutoring, and guided parental support. KIM also introduces children to positive social activities, and provides a unique educational environment of hope and encouragement for lifetime learning. We currently have 112 children enrolled.
KIM’s unique educational approach creates a constructive working relationship bridge between Public school teachers-KIM-Child and Child-KIM-Parents. As a result, we are able to customize additional tutoring and academic support for children that need the most attention.
Taking a c
omprehensive approach, KIM offers classes for the entire family: Parenting Classes, Family Literacy Classes, Nurturing Families Classes and Financial Literacy Classes. We also assist families with Social Services.
